Reviews:
Cat Tales is a narrative in which things happen, and they
matter.
And this doesn't just apply to gigantic life-inverting events like someone
dying, or Selina giving up crime and moving in with Bruce, or Dick and
Barbara's wedding. It applies to all sorts of little tiny narrative gems
that happen along the way, right down to which jewelry store appeared in
Tale X way back when, and sometimes they involve tiny throwaway parts from
minor characters we thought we'd never see again. To see how much effect
locations like the Country Club or characters like Richard Flay or Raoul the
Coffee Seller or Sly the Bartender or Selina's fake personas as Georgina and
Angelica have on the storyline adds to the power of a real, believable world
- because they might be small players on this stage of Batmen and Catwomen
and Jokers and Riddlers, but they're real people too, and Chris treats them
as such.
I've learned from a very good teacher that telling Stories That Matter is
the very beating heart of good fiction. I've learned in that it's been put
into words for me; but I really knew it all along, like all of you who read
and enjoy Cat Tales.

A real, meaningful, beautiful story showing just how that
death affects all of the characters we care about, who have real feelings
like real people, and like real people are interconnected by a complex web
of emotions and relationships.
