On June 7, 2017 Batman proposed to Catwoman in the pages of DC Comics 4 years, 4 months and 9 days after Bruce uttered that same 2-word proposal “Marry Me” in the final chapter of Wayne Rises. The event electrified the fandom and the internet, covered in non-niche media like the USA Today and Politico (Yes, Politico, the White House Counselor to POTUS Kellyanne Conway was among those tweeting “It’s about time!”) and – more importantly for our purposes – sold out within hours of hitting the stands and commending a second printing, and a third, and fourth. Four printings with slightly variations to the cover by David Finch, reimagined here by Rick Celis in his trademark style after Batman the Animated Series.
