Batman 50 by Rick Celis after Jim Lee

By now it’s no secret that what DC solicited as “the wedding issue” did not contain a Batman/Catwoman wedding, and while they may have been forced to offer refunds amid charges of false advertising, no one can accuse Jim Lee’s cover of being part of a fraud. Not a joyous wedding image by a long shot. Cat-Tales poked a bit of fun at DC’s absurd number of variants for a wedding that wasn’t with our own wedding tale Ever Fixed – which, SPOILER ALERT! contains a wedding! – by placing a carousel of 30 cover images in an automated slideshow on the cover page. As always, Rick Celis reimagines the famous DC image in the style of Batman the Animated Series, and the Jim Lee is one of those cases which is vastly improved by his efforts.
