Due to DC’s regrettable post-No Man’s Land storylines that sparked Cat-Tales, Jim Gordon had resigned as commissioner when the series began, and he was a relatively minor character throughout most of the series. Appearances in Something Borrowed and Polishing Silver were infrequent but memorable, until his return in NMK Inc and produced one of the most talked about scenes with Batman and Gordon’s first Bat-signal meeting after his return. Later, Mrs. Wayne saw the first entirely Gordon-centric chapter, taking a deep dive into the commission’s daily routine and the inner workings of the GCPD.
